The Tambur is an elegant stringed musical instrument found in the near and middle east, favoured by amongst others the Sufi Mystics of the Islamic world.

Our choice of this name and symbol was prompted by the desire to come up with a handy acronym, but the parallel between the TAM and a musical instrument - both skillfully crafted, pleasing to the senses yet reliant on the user to produce the finest results - was too good to pass over.
